Serve Out The Purpose!
For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep, and was laid among his fathers and underwent decay. Acts 13:36 David served the purposes of God in his generation. His life shows that it is right and good for us to continually fight for clarity concerning the vision and the purpose of God through all the ebbs and flows of life.

Purpose is a God idea. He didn't spin creation into being so He could make some
sort of vague "thing." No, there is purpose in all creation—and, oh yeah, this includes you and me! I'm not making this up to cheerlead you. It's right out of the Bible. Here's just one of many verses that back up this concept: "For I know the plans that I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope."
Jeremiah 29:11
What are these plans? We must seek the Lord (Deuteronomy 4:29; Luke 11:9-10). There is incredible value in gaining the vision and staying on task for what God wants us to do. I've said it a million times and I'll say it again: There are people attached to our obedience. Conversely, people can be affected negatively by our disobedience. It's sobering and true. And so, we must be clear on what the Father is calling us to, obey Him, and serve out the purpose He has for us with joy. It's exciting and such a privilege to work with our Lord (1 Corinthians 3:9-10)!

God got hold of us so that we could be redeemed and have connection and fellowship with Him, receive His Holy Spirit, and go out and do exploits. The Bible says the people who know their God will display strength and take action (Daniel 11:32). We've got to lift up our eyes to the Lord because we are coming into a wave of fruitfulness and harvest. I want to be in a position with God where all the fuzzy edges are smoothed away and my perspective is one of clarity. Don't you?

Press on!
Pastor Jeff

Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:12-14
