Stand Firm!
Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13
God calls us to stand firm and hold fast to what He promises. The number one thing that will strengthen our stance is to remember who we are standing for: Jesus and His call on each of our lives. I want to adjust according to the Word of God and what He says about my lifenot my will, but God's plan (Luke 22:42). So we stand firm in the conviction that God is turning around situations and accomplishing His plan.
"Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession" (Hebrews 4:14). One of the hardest things to do during a struggle is to open your mouth and confess God's Word, but that is the very thing that will provide the solution. Paul encouraged Timothy to hold fast the standard of sound words that he had learned (2 Timothy 1:13). Speak out scriptures that pertain to your situation and watch things turn around.
Nineteenth century pastor Phillips Brooks wrote: "Do not pray for easy lives, but pray to be stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers, but pray for power equal to your tasks. Then the accomplishing of your work shall be no miracle, but you shall be a miracle." Rely on God and don't quit. Even when you don't feel like the victory is there, God causes you to be victorious. Face the struggle and stand firm on the foundation of the Word of God and watch Him work it out!
I trust Him,
Pastor Jeff
Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
