Strength.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Ephesians 6:10
Muscles are built when two things are present: resistance and protein. The fallen world we live in is filled with resistance, challenge, and conflict. God's Word (referred to as both milk and meat) is the building material God uses to give us spiritual strength and mental fortitude.
Each year we dedicate the month of January to prayerseeking the Lord for His will for us as individuals and as a body of believers. As we set time aside to fellowship with God in prayer, let's also start the year strong with some concentrated time in the Word. The one-two punch of prayer and Bible intake is where we find strength to be and do all that is God's will for us.
Here are a few verses to kick-start a strength-training regimen of building some serious spiritual muscle.
There is strength in the HOPE we have in the Lord.
Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:24
There is strength in the FAITH we have in the Lord.
Be alert and on your guard; stand firm in your faith (your conviction respecting man's relationship to God and divine things, keeping the trust and holy fervor born of faith and a part of it). Act like men and be courageous; grow in strength! 1 Corinthians 16:13 AMP
There is strength in the JOY we have in the Lord.
Then he said to them, "Go, eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength." Nehemiah 8:10
God bless you as you seek the Lord!
