The Benefit.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits. Psalm 103:1-2
We get to know God! The biggest benefit is that, because of Jesus, we have restored fellowship with the Creator of the universe. But God didn't stop there;
He went on to offer us "every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3). Look at the wonderful things God does!
He pardons all your iniquities;
He heals all your diseases;
He redeems your life from the pit; He crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
He satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle. Psalm 103:3-5
Take a deep breath and thank God for His glorious salvation. Even if you are going through a hard situation, God promises to prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies (Psalm 23:5). In the middle of a struggle, God will give you the victory. If you don't know Jesus and this wonderful freedom, you can! Ask Him to come into your life and make you new. The Bible says:
When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap
at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin
and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death,
but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:20-23 NIV
That's worth getting excited about. Bless the Lord, O my soul!
Happy Easter,
Pastor Jeff
