The Disciplines of a Noble Life.
. . . Not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord . . . Romans 12:11
It takes deliberate, serious commitment and action in our daily lives in order for us to see the advancement of the Kingdom. The Kingdom of God is never advanced by people in retreat. That's why the devil tempts us to back downto become soft, self-indulgent, and self-centered. But
when we discipline ourselves for the purpose of godliness, it translates into delight and it bears great fruit.
Let's pursue these 11 disciplines as we forcibly press into God.
1. Bible intake.
2. Prayer.
3. Worship.
4. Evangelism.
5. Serving.
6. Stewardship.
7. Fasting.
8. Silence and solitude.
9. Journaling.
10. Learning.
11. Persevering in all these disciplines.
Oswald Chambers said, "It takes a tremendous amount of discipline to live the noble life of a
disciple of Jesus in actual things. It is always necessary to make an effort to be noble." God wants us to move forward in a deliberate discipline so that we might live a noble life.
