The Nutrition Of The Word.
For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout, and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; it will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:10-11
God uses this natural illustration to show that as these earthly cycles consistently work without fail, so His Word works without fail.
He says that it will succeed; it will not return empty without accomplishing His will. The gospel changes people and situations. It will change an entire culture.
God's Word is faith food. Just as we need nutrition for our bodies, we must understand that our inner man is strengthened by every word that proceeds out of God's mouth (Deuteronomy 8:3; Matthew 4:4).
Early 20th century preacher F.F. Bosworth said that "most Christians feed their bodies three hot meals a day, their spirits one cold snack a week, and then wonder why they are so weak in faith."
Nourish yourself by reading your Bible.
When God gave us the keys to the kingdom, He gave us amazing authority to use His Word (Matthew 16:19). When we speak God's truth over a situation, peace replaces confusion. The Word will bring a stabilizing force to even the most chaotic circumstance.
When you pray, expect results because the Word won't return empty.
As a follower of Jesus, you carry a life-changing message. You are called to move mountains and set captives free. You are a spiritual paramedic to those on the brink of eternity.
Refuse to retreat due to the fatigue of life. Fall back in love with your Bibleit will strengthen you spiritually and equip you for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
