Time With The Father. Daily.
Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation! Selah. Psalm 68:19 NKJV
Christians are called to live in the "now" with a robust certainty that God is faithful. There's no doubt that we live in a fallen world, but we don't need to be morbid about it. We are the redeemed of the Lord. Morning, noon, and night Jesus never stops interceding for us. He loves us and is faithful toward each one of His people.
Worrying won't add a single hour to our lives. Matthew 6 talks very specifically about replacing worry with faith, about not worrying about your life, about not taking thought for tomorrow. God's grace is sufficient.
Christians can sometimes get on auto-pilot, saying things like, "Yeah, I don’t really need that. I read the Bible two or three days ago." But the Bible says we are to gather the bread of the Word every day. In Matthew 6:11 Jesus tells His disciples to pray like this, "Give us this day our daily bread." Just like the Israelites had to go out and get the daily bread of manna in the wilderness, it is our responsibility to daily pick up the bread of God's Word.
Healthy relationships are sustained by regular contact. We feel closest to those we interact with daily. We start to know their habits and patterns, sometimes even what words they will use regarding a particular situation. How much more should that be our relationship with God our Father?
God desires for us to foster a close-knit relationship with Him. Distractions try hard to take our attention from that which benefits us most, but we know how much better we feel when we make being in the Word a priority. Let's make a renewed commitment to read the Word and seek God every day.
This is the stuff of life. Literally.
Press on,
