12 Things Present In A Time Of Prayer.
Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer nor His lovingkindness from me. Psalm 66:20 NASB
Here are a few points about prayer that I shared at a recent prayer meeting.
God bless you as you seek Him.
1. Praise. This is adoration. He's worthy of praise.
2 Samuel 22:4; Psalm 18:3; Psalm 66:4
2. Wait. You love God so you wait on Him, you wait before Him.
Psalm 27:14; Psalm 130:5; Isaiah 40:31
3. Confess. Admit where things are wrong. Repent and confess things.
Acts 3:19-22; 1 John 1:9
4. Pray God's Word. This is another form of confession--to claim His promises.
Psalm 119:58; 2 Corinthians 1:20; Hebrews 8:6
5. Watch. This is a holy alertness--you are looking, waiting, expecting.
1 Chronicles 16:11; Psalm 105:4; Proverbs 28:5
6. Intercede. Pray for others: the lost, the nation, the nations of the world . . .
Numbers 21:7
7. Petition. Pray for your needs in specific detail.
Philippians 4:6-7
8. Give thanks. Confess your blessings and thank God that He has heard you.
Psalm 9:1; Psalm 30:12; Philippians 4:6-7
9. Sing. Sing psalms, hymns, spiritual songs. Sing a new song to God.
Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16; Psalm 40:3
10. Meditate. Think about God. Ponder the lovely things, the praiseworthy things. Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:2
11. Listen. You get guidance while you listen. God will speak to you and fine-tune your spirit. Psalm 119:169-170
12. Praise some more. Tell the Lord just how wonderful He is. Do your best to put it into words. He is worthy of praise.
Press on,
Pastor Jeff
But as for me, my prayer is to You, O Lord, at an acceptable time; O God, in the greatness
of Your lovingkindness, answer me with Your saving truth. Psalm 69:13
