We Can Trust Him.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own
understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make
your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
I need a trustworthy God to make my paths straight. I want to end up
where I need to be when I need to be there. Solomon, the wisest man
of his time, was wise enough to acknowledge in Proverbs that trusting
God is far more effective than relying on our limited understanding.
God is bigger than our mind and He can do more than we imagine.
The African impala can jump over 30 feet out and 10 feet high; yet zookeepers have discovered that a mere 3-foot-high fence will hold the
animal, because an impala will not jump if it cannot see where its feet
will land. Don't let fear be your 3-foot-fence that holds you back from
jumping into God's plan. Abraham, the father of faith, stepped out into
God's plan for his life, not knowing where he was going (Hebrews 11:8).
Trusting the unseen God is the life of faith we are all called to
(Hebrews 11:27).
Faith in God frees us from the flimsy enclosures of fear. Even if you
are in a hard place right now, trust that God will redeem your life from
the pit (Psalm 103:4). Our contradictory circumstances do not have
the final say. God's Word stands firm in heaven, and we can trust our
souls to a faithful Creator (1 Peter 4:19).
Trust Him through the hard times. Trust Him when you don't
understand everything. Life is what it is. Yes, there are troubles,
"but the Lord delivers [the righteous] out of them all"
(Psalm 34:19). Position yourself not on how well you
trust but on how trustworthy He is. He who promised
is faithful, and His Word is something we can hang
our life on (Hebrews 10:23).
Thankful for Jesus,
Pastor Jeff
