You Are Vital.
Under His direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. Ephesians 4:16 NLT There's a real dynamic in giving your life away and having an impact by just humbling yourself and preferring others over yourself. That's Kingdom life. That's Christianity in its essence. That's what Jesus did. He said that He didn't come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many (Matthew
20:28 ; Mark 10:45; Luke 22:26-27).
One of the great aspects of Christianity is that it's about participation. And you're doing that on a high level. We have hundreds of people here at Family Church who get the picture that the greatest in the Kingdom is servant of all (Mark 9:35 ; Luke 9:48).
Back when the church flooded in '93, we really learned, in a tangible way, the value of serving together as a churchthe value of sowing time and effort and real care into people's lives. It's a major part of the call that God has on our lives. God really loves us! He wants to heap so much blessing on our lives, and He wants us to be a blessing to others! Everything good that has happened here we trace to Jesus, and then to the proper working of each individual part.
So, next Saturday, we've asked Christine Caine to come to sow a message into our lives that will be both refreshing and powerful fuel to help us to move forward into all the things that God has planned for us in these upcoming days.
This meeting takes
place during Volunteer Connection, but it's for the whole church. We'll have a continental breakfast and childcare is availableso it will be a great environment for you to connect and get to know some people.
You don't want to miss this meeting.
I'll see you there!
Pastor Jeff
